Claire W. Tucker
President and Chief Executive Officer
Ms. Tucker is a senior banking executive with thirty-three years’ experience in the Business Banking field. Most recently, Ms. Tucker has served as senior vice-president/Metro Markets and city president (Nashville) for FirstBank, a $1.7 billion community bank headquartered in Lexington, Tennessee. Ms. Tucker was responsible for overseeing the bank’s sales and marketing activities in the major metropolitan markets in Tennessee and was responsible for development of the Bank’s market presence in Nashville. During her tenure, FirstBank was recognized by the Nashville Post as one of the Top 20 Emerging Companies in Nashville. Prior to joining FirstBank in late 2001, Ms. Tucker was with AmSouth Bank in Nashville, a $42 billion commercial bank with offices in seven states. She served as a senior executive vice-president for AmSouth with responsibility for all Business Banking activities in six southeastern states and New York. She was a member of an 11-person management committee chaired by the chief executive officer that was charged with oversight of all activities of the company, including strategic planning, tactical execution and delivery of financial results. From 1975-1999, Ms. Tucker was with First American Corporation, Nashville, Tennessee, which was merged with and into AmSouth in 1999. Beginning as a management trainee in 1975, Ms. Tucker advanced to become president of corporate banking for First American in 1997. Ms. Tucker earned a B.S. in Accounting from Tennessee Wesleyan College in 1975 and certification in 1982 as a Certified Management Accountant. She is a graduate of Stonier Graduate School of Banking at Rutgers University (1982), also earning an MBA from the University of Tennessee/Tennessee State University that same year. Active in the community, Ms. Tucker currently serves on the executive committee for Ingram Entertainment; on the board of the Nashville Ballet; chair of St. Luke’s Community House; member of the advancement committee of Tennessee Wesleyan College; vice-chair of the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation; member of the advisory council of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands; member of the boards of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee and the YW Advisory Board; foundation trustee for Brentwood United Methodist Church; and a member of the PENCIL Foundation. Ms. Tucker was a member of the 1995-1996 Class of Leadership Nashville and program co-chair for the class of 1996-1997; she served as chair of the audit committee and secretary/treasurer of the Tennessee Education Lottery Corporation. Her previous community activities have included leadership roles in organizations that help feed and shelter the poor of the community, raise money for the United Way; and bring management and infrastructure strength to the greater Nashville area. Ms. Tucker has one son who is currently a junior at Vanderbilt University. She lives in Brentwood, Tennessee.
Tipton H. Evans
Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Evans, who has 34 years of experience in the banking industry, with particular emphasis in bank payment systems, was most recently employed as a Senior Vice-President of FirstBank, a $1.7 billion community bank headquartered in Lexington, Tennessee, where he was responsible for treasury management and for building a national pre-paid card solution for community banks. Previously, Mr. Evans was employed for 21 years with First American National Bank, which was merged into AmSouth Bank in 1999. At First American, Mr. Evans served as Executive Vice President and Group Manager for Treasury Management and International Services. Mr. Evans is a1974 graduate of the University of Alabama where he earned a B.S. in corporate finance with a concentration in banking from the Culverhouse School of Business. He graduated from the American Bankers Association Stonier Graduate School of Banking in 1982 where he authored a thesis entitled The Impact of Bank Consolidation on Correspondent Banking. Mr. Evans has been involved in numerous industry associations, having served as both president and treasurer of the Tennessee Automated Clearing House Association, director of the National Automated Clearinghouse, director and executive committee member of Internet, Inc., a regional ATM network operating as the “MOST” network, and a member of the Electronic Check Council. Mr. Evans has also been involved in coaching youth baseball for the past eighteen seasons. Mr. Evans and his wife Anne have lived in Franklin, Tennessee for the past twenty years and have three children.
Lynn R. Rhodes
Chief Financial Officer
Ms. Rhodes has over twenty years’ experience in banking finance and accounting. She recently served as senior vice-president and chief financial officer of Fifth Third Bank, NA (Tennessee) where she also served as regional chief financial officer for Tennessee and Kentucky. Her experience includes financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, facilities management and regulatory oversight for all finance-related activities. Prior to her tenure with Fifth Third Bank, she served as financial manager for Tennessee for AmSouth Bank and served in various positions, including controller positions for the corporate and trust and investment management divisions of First American National Bank prior to its merger with AmSouth. Ms. Rhodes also served in various positions with Sovran/NationsBank for five years. She is a 1987 graduate of the University of Tennessee at Knoxville where she earned a BS degree in Business Administration with a major in Finance. She is a member of the Junior League of Nashville. She and her husband Jeff live in Franklin.
Kenneth E. Webb
Chief Lending Officer
Mr. Webb has been a banker for 32 years with the past 23 years in the Nashville market. He recently left First Tennessee Bank, N.A., where he served as Credit Marketing Manager in the Business Strategy Group. In that role, he had company-wide responsibility for creating, implementing and administering various credit related initiatives across the First Tennessee / First Horizon footprint. These initiatives included standard credit products as well as such developments as an interest rate derivatives program, commercial pricing model, and commercial insurance premium financing. In his 14 years with First Tennessee, he served in various other roles including managing commercial, corporate and treasury management groups and serving as the President for First Tennessee Bank – Nashville. Prior to his tenure with First Tennessee, Mr. Webb worked for the former Commerce Union Bank and successor banks for 17 years through its acquisition by NationsBank. During his tenure with that company he serves in various retail and Business Banking roles including significant time spent in the Asset Based Lending Group. Mr. Webb is a native of Lawrence County, Tennessee. He is a 1976 graduate of Middle Tennessee State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He is actively involved in the Nashville community. He has served on various charitable organizations’ boards and is currently serving as Chairman of the Board for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee and as a Trustee of the Nashville Sertoma Club and Foundation. He is also a past Chairman of the Nashville Sertoma Club. He is actively involved with his local Boy Scout troop, serving as Treasurer. He and his family are members of St. Henry Church where both he and his wife are actively involved in church and school activities. Mr. Webb, his wife, Christy, and their three children live in the west Nashville area. Mr. Webb will serve as an ex officio member of the Asset/Liability Policy and Loan Committee.
Mark D. Mattson
Chief Credit Officer
Mr. Mattson has almost twenty years of banking experience and was most recently a Managing Director in the Healthcare Corporate and Investment Banking practice at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey where he had direct responsibility for new business development from Healthcare companies throughout the U.S. While also being responsible for marketing trust, investment management and treasury management services to the firm’s corporate healthcare clients, his particular focus was on identifying and providing both debt and equity financing solutions to meet the specific capital needs of these clients. Prior to joining SunTrust, Mr. Mattson was with First American National Bank for seven years, where he began as a management trainee in 1989. He was appointed a lender in First American’s healthcare group in 1992 where he advanced to one of the group’s senior lenders until his departure in 1996. Mr. Mattson earned a B.S. in Business Administration with a concentration in Human Relations from Tennessee Technological University in 1987 and a MBA with a concentration in finance from the Mays Business School at Texas A&M University in 1989. During the past several years Mr. Mattson has held leadership roles with a number of organizations in the Nashville community, including Junior Achievement (classroom teacher), the Young Leaders Council (Class 20), the Kidney Foundation of Middle Tennessee (board member), and the Downtown Nashville Lions Club (past president). Mr. Mattson and his wife Karen have resided in Franklin for the last fifteen years and have two daughters who are students at Battle Ground Academy.
