Karen R. Schorkopf
Executive Vice President, Retail and Private Banking
Karen R. Schorkopf oversees all retail branch operations as well as marketing and outreach strategies for CapStar’s private banking department. She is a graduate of Duke University and the New York University Graduate School of Commercial Banking.
Her broad background includes private client, retail, business banking, commercial real estate lending, investment banking and international correspondent banking.
Most recently, she served as Senior Vice President at BancorpSouth, where she was responsible for supervising sales, service, credit, marketing, business development and community service for the retail department’s consumer and private client relationships. Previously, she managed SouthTrust Bank’s nine financial centers in Middle TN. Her banking career began on Wall Street in 1982 where she advanced from a management trainee to Vice President of Merrill Lynch’s International Capital Market’s Division managing international credit exposures worldwide.
Karen is active in our community, volunteering and serving on boards and in leadership roles for (W.C.R.E.) Women in Commercial Real Estate, Fifty Forward’s Martin Center, The Children of Aging Parents (C.O.A.P.) Program, Nashville CABLE, Leadership Franklin, Mercy Children’s Clinic and several Middle TN Chambers.
Karen and her husband Paul have three sons and live in Brentwood, Tennessee.
