Earl Bentz, an organizer of the bank and member of CapStar’s board of directors, attended Clemson University and Vanderbilt University and has completed the Dale Carnegie Human Relations courses and training.
Currently, he is president and CEO of Triton Boats, a company he sold to Brunswick Corporation in 2005. Earl began his career in boating in Charleston, South Carolina in 1966 and went on to form his own entrepreneurial companies Stratos Boats and, later, Triton Boats. He also has an extensive background in commercial real estate development.
Earl has served on the boards of the Country Music Hall of Fame; the Middle Tennessee Council; Boy Scouts of America; Tennessee Wildlife Resources Foundation; the National Association of Boat Manufacturers; the National Marine Manufacturers’ Association; the Recreational Boating and Fishing Foundation; and the Congressional Sportsman’s Foundation. He is an avid outdoorsman and lives in Nashville with his wife Janet and three daughters.
