Dale W. Polley
Dale W. Polley retired as a vice chairman and member of the board of directors of First American Corporation and First American National Bank in 2000. Prior to these positions, Dale served in various executive management positions at First American Corporation, including serving as its president from 1997 to 1999. Before joining First American in 1991, he had been group executive vice president and treasurer for C&S/Sovran Corporation, and held various executive positions within Sovran before its merger with C&S. Dale joined Sovran from Commerce Union Bank of Nashville, where he was its executive vice president and chief financial officer. He serves on the board of directors of O’Charley’s Inc., a registered public restaurant company, and HealthStream, Inc., a registered public health services company, both of which are headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dale also serves on the boards of the Nashville Sports Council, the Music City Bowl and Vanderbilt Ingram Cancer Center. He has formerly served on the board of directors of the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, St. Thomas Health Services Foundation, the Nashville Area Chamber of Commerce, the T.J. Martel Foundation, the YMCA and the United Way, where he served as chairman of the board and chairman of the community’s 1995 fundraising campaign. He has also served as president of the Nashville Club for the University of Kentucky Alumni Association. In 2006, he served as the chairman of the steering committee for the Nashville Sports Council’s hosting of the 2006 SEC Men’s Basketball Tournament, a position he also held in 2001. He is a graduate of Leadership Nashville, the Financial Executives Institute and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
